Understanding Date Math
| Variable | Calculation Impact |
|---|---|
| Leap Years | Adds an extra day (February 29th) every four years. If your duration crosses this date, the total days calculation automatically increases by one. |
| Variable Months | Adding "1 Month" to January 31st yields the last day of February, rather than pushing into March. The native calendar engine handles these edge cases perfectly. |
| Timezones | Calculations are localized to the browser's current timezone setting, meaning 'Today' represents your actual local day. |

The calculator is smart enough to detect the chronological order. It will automatically calculate the absolute difference between the two points in time, regardless of which one you entered first.
Because calendar months vary in length (28, 29, 30, or 31 days), the calculator determines the number of full calendar months between the two specific dates, and then counts the remaining exact days.
